Mayer Brown JSM has promoted Ben Sandstad to its partnership with additional responsibilities of heading the firm’s structured finance practice in Asia. 

Sandstad, who will be based in the firm’s Hong Kong office, will run a pan-Asia practice covering structured finance, securitisation and derivative transactions.

Formerly a partner at Clayton Utz, he also practiced law in Hong Kong and Tokyo with Magic Circle firm Linklaters.

Sandstad has over a decade of experience in debt finance transactions involving a wide range of Asia-Pacific jurisdictions, financing structures, underlying assets and recourse basis including in defaulted and stressed scenarios and restructurings. 

He is admitted to practice in Hong Kong and New South Wales.ALB
