As part of Mayer Brown’s move to promote 39 lawyers to partner worldwide, Mayer Brown JSM has announced four promotions to partner in Asia, including two in Hong Kong, and one each in Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City.
The new partners in Hong Kong are litigation and dispute resolution specialists Jaime C.Y. Lam and Susanne J. Reynolds, while corporate and securities lawyer Kevin B. Hawkins was promoted in Ho Chi Minh City, and restructuring and bankruptcy lawyer Maythawee Sarathai was promoted to partner in Bangkok.
Lam focuses on personal injury litigation with particular emphasis on medical malpractice, acting for professional indemnity providers, healthcare institutions and professionals, including local hospitals, doctors, dentists and other healthcare professionals, in civil, criminal and disciplinary proceedings. Meanwhile, Reynolds is experienced in commercial dispute resolution, and has advised on a range of complex litigation and arbitration proceedings both in Australia and Hong Kong, including banking, corporate, tax and insolvency related matters.
Hawkins, with more than eight years experience as a registered foreign lawyer in Vietnam, advises clients on a variety of matters including business formation, oil, gas and power, education, trading and distribution, mining, M&A, property development, employment and corporate governance. And Maythawee, a Thai-qualified lawyer and Registered Foreign Lawyer in Hong Kong, advises on all aspects of M&A matters in Thailand and acts for creditors, liquidators, planners, plan administrators, special managers and debtors on contentious and non-contentious corporate restructuring and insolvency.
