Morrison & Foerster has added Dale Araki, M&A specialist and former managing partner of O’Melveny & Myers’ Tokyo office, to its team in the Japanese capital as a partner.
Araki, who has more than twenty years of experience representing Japanese, European and U.S. companies in a wide variety of cross-border deals, has represented both buyers and sellers in M&A, joint venture, and other investment transactions. In particular, he is noted for his work in technology and entertainment sectors, especially investments in media and Internet companies, and software and technology licensing.
“We have seen continued and expanded interest in cross-border transactions from our Japanese clients this year, notwithstanding the challenges of this spring’s events. Dale’s addition gives us greater breadth and depth as Japan’s strong corporations continue to broaden their global footprint through transactions that we can handle for them. We are pleased to welcome him to the team,” said Ken Siegel, managing partner of Morrison & Foerster’s Tokyo office, in a statement.
Morrison & Foerster, which has a sizeable presence in Japan, advises many of the country’s technology, pharmaceutical, electronics, financial services and other companies in cross-border corporate matters. ALB
