Mori Hamada & Matsumoto is set to open an office in Nagoya by September 2015.

The new office will initially be run by partner Yoshihiro Kojima as well as associates Mikio Sonoda and Tomoaki Murai, whose work focuses on M&A, corporate, and tax matters, among others.

The Nagoya branch will provide clients in Japan’s Tokai region with legal services in the areas of litigation, dispute resolution, antitrust matters, corporate practice, crisis management, and intellectual property. It is also expected to handle cross-border matters across Asia, with the help of the firm’s other Japan-based lawyers as well as colleagues in its overseas offices in Singapore, Bangkok, Beijing, Shanghai, and Yangon.

The Nagoya office is Mori Hamada’s fourth branch in Japan. The Tokyo-headquartered firm opened its doors in Fukuoka and Osaka in October 2013 and April 2014, respectively. Most recently, the firm launched an office in Bangkok in April this year.
