Vietnamese law firm Vilaf has named senior partner, Dang Duong Anh as the new managing partner of the firm’s Hanoi office, succeeding Tran Tuan Phong. Tran had been office managing partner since 2006.
Dang has been a partner at Vilaf since 2005 and the executive partner of the firm’s Hanoi office since 2008. With extensive experience in corporate, projects and finance matters, Dang has advised on projects such as the Phu My 3 BOT project, the Vinh Tan 1 BOT Project and the Kien Luong 1 BOO project. He recently counseled SCG on its acquisition of strategic shares in Prime Group, and Showa Denko K.K and and Showa Aluminum Can Corporation on their acquisition of strategic shares in Hanacans.
“We are grateful for the outstanding leadership Phong has shown in overseeing the Hanoi office’s growth and development,” said Ngo Thanh Tung, the firm’s chairman, in a statement. “We also are confident that Duong Anh has the perfect blend of management experience and legal skills to further enhance Vilaf’s profile both in Hanoi and throughout Vietnam.”
Tran, meanwhile, will continue to serve as the firm’s senior partner and grow his corporate/M&A and infrastructure/projects practices.
