Japanese law firm Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu is the frontrunner for the ALB Japan Law Awards 2013 with a total of 35 nominations, while Mori Hamada & Matsumoto has grabbed 27.

Fellow Big Four law firms Anderson Mori & Tomotsune and Nishimura & Asahi have received 21 and 13 nominations respectively.

International law firms have also made a strong showing. Morrison & Foerster and Sullivan & Cromwell have received 21 and 19 nominations respectively, while Baker & McKenzie has 16.

Among in-house legal teams, financial institution Nomura has bagged 21 nods, while Morgan Stanley has 19.

Winners across the 26 categories will be announced on Wednesday, June 5 at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo. The evening will draw a number of high-profile lawyers, in-house counsel, members of the judiciary, bankers, and other influential decision makers.
