Singapore powerhouse Rajah & Tann has expanded its reach by establishing offices in Myanmar and Cambodia, as it looks to tap into the potential of these emerging markets.

In Myanmar, the firm has tied up with local law firm NK Legal to form Rajah & Tann NK Legal, while in Cambodia, its association with Sok & Heng has seen the formation of a firm called R&T Sok & Heng Law Office.

In Myanmar, the office is headed by U Nyein Kyaw, while Heng Chhay is the managing partner of R&T Sok & Heng.

“Our goal has been to create an Indochina network of law practices, so that we can serve our clients seamlessly regardless of where they are based in the region,” said Lee Eng Beng, Rajah & Tann’s managing partner, in a statement. “These recent expansions are in line with this regional strategy. Our presence in these countries underscores our commitment to be the Asian counsel of choice in Asia.”

Rajah & Tann also has offices in China, Thailand, Lao PDR, Vietnam, associate/affiliate offices in Malaysia and Indonesia, and regional desks focusing on Japan and South Asia.
