Sparke Helmore’s Sydney managing partner Susan Bennett has resigned from the firm. A partner with the firm for almost 10 years, Bennett has been instrumental in a number of firm initiatives including the  Six Degrees Women's Network and Lucy Mentoring program. She is also head of the commercial litigation and dispute resolution team and the legal technology support team.

Her departure comes only six months after Newcastle managing partner Jann Gardner resigned from the firm. National communications manager Sharon Stockman said the firm was still considering the appointment of a new Sydney managing partner to succeed Bennett. “Susan departs the firm on completely amicable terms,” said Stockman. “Susan has made a significant contribution to Sparke Helmore over the years… We wish her every success for the future.”

Special counsel Judy Tomas also left the firm last month.
