Former in-house lawyer for Credit Suisse and managing director for Bank Sarasin & Cie AG, Anne Luke, has been appointed as managing director, head of client solutions, Asia at Barclays Wealth – the global wealth management division of Barclays PLC. The appointment is a further extension of the bank’s continuing focus on the ultra high net worth client segment across Asia.

Luke will report to Srinivas Siripurapu, head of South and Southeast Asia, as well as Pakorn Boonya-Kurkul, head of North Asia.

Luke will work closely with various units across the Barclays Group to drive the origination, structuring and delivery of bespoke private investment banking solutions to ultra high net worth clients.

Most recently Luke worked at Sarasin & Cie AG as managing director. Prior to that, she was managing director of Credit Suisse’s Singapore operations. In this position, she was responsible for spearheading the Solution Partners Special Finance and Investment Solutions Adia Pacific Initiative.

Prior to her time at Credit Suisse, Luke worked as an in-house counsel with UBS. Before this she was a partner with Singaporean firm David Lim & Partners.

In the past 18 months, Barclays Wealth in Asia has built a range of capabilities to cater to the complex needs of ultra high net worth clients.  The private bank has introduced bespoke solutions in credit, derivatives, foreign exchange and trust structuring in an effort to unlock the value from often complex portfolios, and help clients to monetise the full value of their assets.ALB
