Clyde & Co has entered into a joint law venture in Singapore with its long-time local associate firm Clasis. The entity will operate as Clyde & Co Clasis Singapore from Aug. 1.
The move is expected to allow Clyde & Co, which has been in Singapore since 1991, to provide a greater range of legal services in the region. The JLV is set to provide offshore and onshore advice in permitted areas; however, litigation in the Singapore courts will be carried out by Clasis as a local law firm.
“Building on from our previous preferred referral relationship, we are delighted to be joining forces with Clasis LLC in Singapore in establishing this joint law venture,” Clyde & Co's Singapore office Managing Partner Brian Nash said in a statement. “Clyde & Co and Clasis LLC have regularly worked together as co-counsel, with Clasis LLC providing Singapore law advice on international transactions coordinated by Clyde & Co. From an internal perspective, it will be very much business as normal as we are already familiar with the Clasis team, but from a client-facing perspective, we are obviously very pleased to be able to combine our strengths and offer a ‘one-stop shop’ service under one umbrella entity.”
Clyde & Co Clasis Singapore will have a total staff of 61, including 10 partners and 22 other legal professionals.
