The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) will open a representative office in the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT) special economic zone in India in order to promote its services to businesses in the region.

SIAC will collaborate with GIFT to promote the use of arbitration, mediation and other dispute resolution mechanisms, including the Arb-Med-Arb service that it offers along with the Singapore International Mediation Centre. 

J. Sagar Associates has advised GIFT on its agreement with SIAC. The JSA team was led by partners Nitin Potdar and Ongmu Tshering.

In the past five years, Indian parties have ranked among the top five foreign users of SIAC, and India topped the list in 2013 and 2015.
