Singapore law firm Colin Ng & Partners (CNP) has entered into an association with a Myanmar law firm named Fame Myanmar Co Ltd, which will cooperate on a range of cross-border transactions.

In 2013, CNP acted for Alliance Brewery in its joint venture with Asia Pacific Breweries – a subsidiary of Heineken – to build and operate a brewery in Myanmar. CNP has also acted for a number of Singapore companies in joint ventures and other commercial transactions with Myanmar entities in recent years.

“CNP welcomes the opportunity to share and tap on the expertise and experience of FM in relation to transactions in Myanmar, as part of the firm’s regionalisation drive,” said Lisa Theng, joint managing partner of CNP, in a statement. “With reforms in Myanmar gathering pace, some of our clients are increasingly interested in looking to Myanmar to increase their investment portfolios. The alliance with FM makes us well-positioned to cater to the interests and needs of our clients."
