Stephenson Harwood has entered into an association with Myanmar law firm U Tin Yu & Associates, as it looks to cash in on the ongoing excitement around Mynmar.

U Tin Yu & Associates, established in 1978, specialises in areas like corporate and commercial matters, litigation, real estate, IP and employment law.

“U Tin Yu & Associates has a respected and established local presence in Myanmar, and this new association enables both firms to broaden their client offering,” said Sharon White, chief executive of Stephenson Harwood, in a statement. “We are seeing an increased interest in Myanmar from our clients, and I am glad that we are now able to offer local knowledge and expertise from within the country."

Last month, the firm entered into an association with Singapore law firm Virtus Law. It also has a tie-up with Christian Teo Purwono & Partners in Indonesia (established November 2011).
