TressCox Lawyers has become the latest mid tier firm to announce a merger. The firm will be merging with Brisbane-based Macrossans Lawyers on October 1. The combined firm will continue to be known as TressCox Lawyers.

The merger will result in a fully financially integrated partnership between the two firms.  Five Macrossans partners, including current chairman of partners Bill Hickey, will join the three existing TressCox partners based in Brisbane.  The full integration of both firms will result in a total partnership of eight in Brisbane and an overall team of approximately 50.

TressCox managing partner Peter Smith said the investment in the merger reflected the firm’s commitment to the Brisbane market. “From the perspective of both firms, this merger will create critical mass in the Brisbane market, giving clients access to a broad range of complementary service lines,” said Smith.

The new joint Brisbane office will be led by Hickey.
