U.S. law firm Vedder Price has opened an office in Singapore, its first in Asia and second outside the U.S. 

The office will initially focus on expanding its Global Transportation Finance (GTF) practice to the region.

The Singapore office will be headed by shareholder Ji Woon Kim, who is moving from New York. He will be joined by solicitor Lev Gantly, who will relocate to Singapore from the firm’s London office.

Kim, who has been associated with Vedder Price since the beginning of his career, has been responsible for building the GTF practice of the firm over more than a decade.

Vedder Price is a 300-lawyer firm with six other offices, in Chicago, New York, Washington, DC, London, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The firm offers services to clients in the transportation sector, including the aviation, aerospace, railroad and marine industries.
