Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has entered into a formal law alliance (FLA) in Singapore with local firm Wong Tan & Molly Lim (WTL). The combination will bear the name WFW & WTL.

Headed by banking and finance specialist Sunny Wong, WTL does a range of corporate and disputes work. Its clients include companies, financial institutions, professional services firms, securities houses and public bodies.

WFW opened its first Asia office in Singapore in 1998. In 2011, the firm entered into a joint law venture with Asia Practice, but opted to terminate that in July 2016.

Major Japanese law firm TMI Associates has entered into an alliance with Malaysian law firm SY Teo & Co, set up by Sze Yi Teo, an associate in TMI’s Singapore office. The alliance will also establish an office in Kuala Lumpur under the name of SY Teo & Co in Association with TMI Associates.
