Thomson Reuters’ Legal Media Group, which includes the monthly magazines Asian Legal Business, ALB China, and Hong Kong Lawyer, is now accepting applications for two roles within its editorial team. Both are full-time roles based in Hong Kong.
Lead/Deputy Editor – Hong Kong Lawyer: The role involves working with the Law Society of Hong Kong to set the editorial tone and direction of the monthly publication, commissioning content, writing at least one feature a month, and working with the design and production team to produce the magazine. The Lead Editor will also be responsible for keeping the Hong Kong Lawyer website updated, and sending out regular newsletters. Required: a law degree, and at least three years of experience in a senior editorial role with a print magazine.
Those who have less editorial experience will be considered for the post of Deputy Editor.
Feature Writer – Asian Legal Business: The role involves writing monthly features for the magazine, and weekly features for the web. Other tasks include assisting in the rankings process as well as supplements and/or guides. Solid interviewing and writing skills are critical to this role – please send samples of published features with your application. An understanding of the legal industry in Asia would be very handy. Required: At least two years of experience working full-time with a recognised media organisation.
