Stephenson Harwood has recruited Richard Wilmot as a litigation partner in its Hong Kong office from Watson, Farley & Williams.

Wilmot’s practice covers contracts for general commodities, carbon credit trading as well as the sale, purchase, supply and transportation of petroleum products, coal, LNG and LPG.

Specialising in dispute resolution, litigation and arbitration, he assists clients such as buyers, banks, trading companies and shipping businesses.

Wilmot’s appointment comes as Stephenson Harwood is beefing up its litigation capabilities in the region. “Dispute resolution is a key area for Stephenson Harwood internationally and we are seeing increased opportunities to advise on complex matters in China,” said Voon Keat Lai, the firm’s managing partner for Greater China, in a statement.
