Offshore law firm Walkers has added James Gaden as partner to its Corporate and Investment Funds Group in Hong Kong from rival Maples and Calder.

With more than 15 years of experience in the financial services sector, Gaden advises on fund formation and structuring, transactional matters including mergers and acquisitions, fund restructuring and fund financing. He is also has expertise in venture capital, fintech-related industries, and the legal aspects of cryptocurrencies.

Gaden started his career at Gilbert+Tobin in Sydney before spending more than three years with Sidley Austin in Hong Kong. He moved to Maples in 2010.

Walkers has 30 lawyers in its Corporate and Investment Funds practice in its Asia and Middle East offices.
