Magic Circle firm Clifford Chance has hired M&A specialist Alex Bidlake as a partner in Hong Kong from Linklaters.

Bringing more than 18 years of experience, Bidlake advises financial and strategic investors on public and private M&A, and is a member of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission's Takeovers and Mergers Panel and Takeovers Appeal Committee. She has particular experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, including energy transition.

Notable work by Bidlake includes advising the founders of gaming hardware company Razer, as well as private equity firm CVC Capital, on a $1.38 billion deal to take Razer private; advising Cathay Pacific Airways on its $5 billion Hong Kong government-backed recapitalisation plan; and advising Thailand's Siam City Cement on the purchase of two businesses from LafargeHolcim.

Before joining Linklaters in 2008 as a partner, Bidlake was at Jones Day and Simmons & Simmons.
