U.S. law firm K&L Gates has recruited technology and data practitioner Paul Haswell as a partner in Hong Kong from Seyfarth Shaw, where he headed its regional technology practice.

With more than two decades of experience, Haswell advises on contentious and non-contentious work in relation to the IT, telecoms and media industries, as well as commercial and employment law.

He joined Seyfarth Shaw early last year after nearly 15 years at Pinsent Masons, where he became a partner in 2013. Prior to that, he was at Wragge & Co and the erstwhile SNR Denton.

K&L Gates currently has 18 full-time partners in Hong Kong. Late last year, it hired capital markets partners Iris Leung and Jay Lee from Linklaters and Simmons & Simmons, respectively.
