ALB is pleased to announce the call for submissions for Asia's Top 15 General Counsels. The list celebrates the visionary leadership and strategic contributions of the region's leading legal minds. We invite submissions from general counsels and their teams who are driving innovation and fostering a culture of excellence within their legal departments. Finalists will be recognized for their transformative approaches in technology, behavior, business models, or service delivery, ultimately elevating the legal function's value and impact within their organizations.

We are now accepting submissions for ALB Asia’s Top 15 General Counsels until  28 June, 2024.

Please note that submission does not guarantee a place on the list. Submissions are open to candidates who are currently employed as General Counsel or hold equivalent leadership positions within their legal departments in an Asia-based organizations for the past 12 months. Past and existing achievements, key work as the strategic and risk advisors, contribution towards operational efficiency and business, as well as profile of deals / cases handled, business partners’ recommendations, and any significant accolades and awards received will be taken into consideration when making the assessment.


Submission Deadline

Friday, 28 June 2024, 6pm (Singapore Time)
 

Some of the key qualities that we are looking for:

  • Possessing a deep understanding of relevant legal areas and staying current with legal developments and emerging trends within their industry
  • Possessing a strong understanding of the business they serve and the strategic thinking to anticipate potential legal issues and provide guidance that aligns with the organization's objectives
  • Possessing the ability to find creative and practical solutions for complex challenges, weigh legal risks against business opportunities and consider the commercial implications of their advice, and strike a balance between legal compliance and achieve business goals
  • Possessing the ability to contribute to the organization's strategic decision-making process by providing legal insights and considering the long-term implications of their advice

How It Works

  • Submissions are open to legal professionals who are currently employed as General Counsel or hold equivalent leadership positions within their legal departments in an Asia-based organizations for the past 12 months (1 June 2023-1 June 2024)
  • Fill in the nomination form and submit the form to bingqing.wang@thomsonreuters.com no later than Friday, 28 June 2024, 6.00pm Singapore Time
  • We will take into account peer commentary, market feedback and ALB editorial input. Interviews will be conducted by ALB if necessary
  • Details of our methodology for determining the top 15 General Counsels can be found here

Law Firm Recommendations:

  • Lawyers are welcome to fill out a survey in which they can recommend the General Counsels for the ranking
  • Form can be found here

Notes:

  • Submissions from mainland China and Australia/New Zealand will not be considered for this list.
  • Submission of a nomination does not guarantee a place on the list. ALB does not have the obligation to explain the inclusion or omission of any specific submission.
