newsThe 4th annual ALB India Law Awards were held Friday, June 10, at the Taj Land’s End Mumbai, showcasing the finest achievements of the country’s legal industry in the past year. It was only the second in-person ALB India Law Awards, after the pandemic pushed the 2020 and 2021 editions online. 

Lawyers in private practice, in-house counsel, business leaders and more attended the celebration, with awards being given out in 49 categories. Around 181 law firms and in-house teams sent in about 885 entries.

Among the big winners was one of India’s leading law firms, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, which won awards in seven categories (not including deals). These included Managing Partner of the Year and Dealmaker of the Year (both for Cyril Shroff), India Deal Firm of the Year, Labour and Employment Law Firm of the Year, Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law Firm of the Year, Data Privacy and Protection Lawyer of the Year (Law Firm), and the much-coveted India Law Firm of the Year.

DSK Legal had a strong night as well, winning awards in five categories. These included Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year (for Anand Desai), Aviation Law Firm of the Year, Medical and Healthcare Law Firm of the Year, North India Law Firm of the Year, and South India Law Firm of the Year.

Among other awards, MZM Legal (pictured) won White Collar Crime Law Firm of the Year.

Among in-house teams, ICICI Bank won in three categories: Banking and Financial Services In-House Team of the Year, Innovative In-House Team of the Year, and India In-House Team of the Year.
