Dentons has grown its presence in the ASEAN region by combining with Vietnamese law firm LuatViet.
The combination means that the Dentons network encompasses five countries in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar. In April this year, Gerald Singham, Dentons’ global vice-chair and ASEAN CEO, said there were also plans to combine with law firms in Thailand and the Philippines.
LuatViet, which was established in 1999, offers services in practice areas including M&A, dispute resolution, intellectual property and securities and capital markets. The firm currently has three partners and more than 30 legal professionals.
Dentons now has a presence in 205 locations across 81 countries. "Dentons’ strategy is focused on finding firms who have the proven ability to offer sophisticated, high-quality legal services and business solutions," said Singham in a statement. "Our combination continues Dentons' momentum in ASEAN, enabling Dentons to, once again, maintain and improve its quality as it grows."
