CMS Holborn Asia, the Singapore alliance firm of CMS, has added Ying Yi Liew as a director and head of its financial services regulatory practice from Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow, where she was a principal.

Specializing in financial services regulation, Liew advises financial institutions, fintech companies, and regulated entities on compliance matters and licensing requirements with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Her expertise extends to blockchain and cryptocurrency regulations, compliance frameworks, and regulatory investigations.

Liew spent over a decade at Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow, prior to which she was an associate at Rajah & Tann.

"Ying Yi has an excellent market profile, both in Singapore and internationally, and her appointment will further strengthen our market-leading finance offering," said Caryn Miller, joint managing director for Asia and the Middle East at CMS, in a statement.

Added Daniel Tan, head of finance at CMS Holborn Asia: "We are delighted to welcome Ying Yi to the banking and finance practice. Our Asia-Pacific practice is experiencing significant growth, and Ying Yi is another fantastic appointment."

With Liew’s addition, CMS Holborn now has 19 lawyers, including four directors.
