Indian law firm Kochhar & Co has hired Abhilekh Verma as a senior partner in its corporate commercial practice in the southern city of Bengaluru from Khaitan & Co.

Verma specialises in corporate and business laws with focus on mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, strategic tie-ups, foreign inward and outbound investment. He has advised MNC and domestic clients on legal and regulatory issues at stages on issues such as entry strategies, structuring and other general corporate commercial matters. 

Prior to joining Khaitan & Co, Verma co-founded PAV Law Offices. He also worked as a partner at J. Sagar Associates.

Last year, Kochhar hired Gautam Bhatikar as a senior partner and co-head of its Mumbai office from ALMT Legal.  The firm also appointed Nikhat Sardar Khan as a partner in its Dubai office from the UAE’s Hilal Associates.
