India’s J Sagar Associates has bolstered its M&A practice with the hire of Shafaq Uraizee Sapre as a retained partner in Mumbai from Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, where she was an executive partner and headed the firm’s corporate practice for the western and southern regions.

The news of Sapre’s departure from L&S comes days after Ganesh Chandru and his team of four associates exited the firm to join Dua Associates in Delhi.

Sapre, who has over 18 years of experience, advises on M&A, joint ventures and fund investments. Prior to joining L&S, Sapre was a partner at Bharucha & Partners, before which she was the head of joint ventures at Nishith Desai Associates.
