The hiring momentum in India’s legal market continues, with Veritas Legal, SNG & Partners, DMD Advocates, Lex Consult and ANM Global welcoming new partners recently.

Mumbai-based Veritas Legal has hired Jhinook Roy and Shubhangi Pathak from Khaitan & Co and Tuli & Co, respectively. Roy, who was a counsel at Khaitan, joins Veritas as the head of its projects, infrastructure and finance practice. Pathak advises on corporate and regulatory matters in the insurance sector.

Gaurav Sahay has joined SNG & Partners as a partner in Bengaluru from Link Legal. He advises on M&A, contract management, corporate and commercial laws, antitrust and competition law, banking and finance, risk management and intellectual property. Sahay joined Link Legal in 2021 from HSA Advocates, where he was a partner.

DMD Advocates has brought on board Varun Mowar as a partner in New Delhi to build its investigations and governance advisory practice. Mowar, who has experience in white-collar criminal defence and corporate fraud investigations, was senior director for disputes and investigations at Alvarez & Marsal for nearly four years until 2021.

Mumbai-headquartered Lex Consult has recruited Nidhi Khadria as a partner. Khadria, who was most recently head of legal for India at property solutions company LOGOS, advises on corporate governance, private equity and general corporate. Before going in-house with Matrix Partners, she started her career at AZB & Partners and Trilegal.

ANM Global has landed Rahul Mehta, its second media and entertainment partner hire in two months following the addition of Arpit Choudhary. Mehta previously worked in in-house roles at Sony Pictures Networks India, where he was lead counsel, and at Zee Entertainment Enterprises.
