Dentons Link Legal gets its fourth lateral hire this year, while Burgeon Law, Chandhiok & Mahajan and Emerald Law Offices have boosted their partner ranks as well.

Delhi-based Burgeon Law has hired corporate practitioner Anish Jaipuriar as a partner from AKS Partners. Jaipuriar advises on M&A, PE transactions and other corporate and commercial law matters with a focus on cryptocurrencies, asset tokenisation, DeFi, Metaverse, NFTs and other blockchain based technologies. He previously worked for Khaitan & Co and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.

White-collar crime specialist Varun Pareek has joined Emerald Law Offices in Delhi as a partner. Pareek represents high-profile individuals and corporations in litigations involving financial fraud, corporate misconduct, bribery and other white-collar offenses. He earlier held senior positions at Clasis Law and Luthra and Luthra Offices, and was also global general counsel at power and infrastructure company SkipperSeil.

M&A lawyer Shafaq Uraizee Sapre has joined Chandhiok & Mahajan as Mumbai managing partner. Sapre advises multinational corporations, private equity firms and family offices on M&A, and PE investments and transactions. Prior to joining C&M, Sapre was a partner at J. Sagar Associates, moving to that firm in early 2020 from Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, where she was an executive partner and headed the firm’s corporate practice for the western and southern regions. Sapre was earlier a partner at Bharucha & Partners, and head of the joint venture practice at Nishith Desai Associates.

Dentons Link Legal has welcomed disputes expert Shravan Yammanur as a partner in Delhi, the firm’s fourth lateral hire since January following those of Rajeev Mishra, Prashanth Sabeshan and Rajesh K Sehgal. An Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India, Yammanur was previously running his own chambers; his prior employers include P&A Law Offices and India’s Ministry of Finance. His experience includes cross-border arbitration and litigation, with a focus on cases involving governments. Dentons recently formalised its combination with Indian law firm Link Legal, which was first announced last October.
