Indonesian law firm AVYA Law has appointed Noor M Aziz as partner to head its corporate, commercial, and business transactions practice group, marking the firm's third partner hire since July.

Aziz brings over eight years of experience in corporate and commercial law, with a specialisation in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), foreign direct investments, joint ventures, restructuring, and corporate compliance. He also assists clients with contingency planning for strikes, employment terminations, and other employment-related issues.

A former associate at GHP Law Firm and AKSET Law, Aziz also completed a secondment at XL Axiata.

Aziz is expected to bolster AVYA's corporate capabilities amidst the increasing interest in foreign investment in Southeast Asia's largest economy, the firm said in a statement.

AVYA now has five partners, including Ryand Armilis, who was hired in November to lead construction and infrastructure, and Dessy Tampi, who joined  in July to head innovation and technology.
