Korean law firm Yoon & Yang has appointed Sungwook Cho, a former chief prosecutor with the Daejeon High Prosecutors’ Office, as a managing partner in Seoul. 

Cho, who joins the firm’s white-collar criminal defence team, will advise on criminal and corporate litigation, government relations and legislative consulting, labour and employment, and general corporate advisory services.

Cho worked at various prosecutors’ offices in Korea for 25 years. He also was a Secretary to the President for Civil Affairs I at the Executive Office of the President, and Assistant Minister for Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Justice of Korea. 

With the appointment of Cho, Yoon & Yang will have nine managing partners. The firm has more than 40 partners in its white-collar criminal defence practice group.
