Singapore-based boutique firm Breakpoint has added KC Lye from Norton Rose Fullbright (NRF), where he was the Singapore disputes head.

This marks the second time in days that a Singaporean boutique has made a high-profile disputes hire from a U.S. firm. Recently, Gateway Law Corporation lured over two arbitration specialists from King & Spalding - partner Simon Dunbar and counsel Kevin Lim.

Lye, who spent more than two decades at Norton Rose, has represented clients in arbitrations and mediation proceedings in London, Hong Kong and Singapore. He is a fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and is on the panel of arbitrators of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC).

Breakpoint was founded in 2018 by former Drew & Napier lawyer Nicholas Poon, who serves as the managing director. The firm has one other director – Darius Chan.
