Reed Smith has hired maritime disputes lawyer Peter Glover as a partner in its Transportation Industry Group in Hong Kong from Norton Rose Fulbright. 

This is Reed Smith’s third partner-level disputes lateral in Hong Kong since May. Back then, it nabbed Stephen Chan as a partner from Oldham Li & Nie, and shortly afterwards, snapped up Mark West from Kennedys, where he was co-head of regulatory.

Glover specialises in shipping, international trade, arbitration, regulation and marine insurance. He comes from a maritime background having served at sea with the oil majors and is a qualified Master Mariner.

Andrew Taylor, co-chair of Reed Smith’s Transportation Industry Group, said, “The depth of Peter’s maritime experience and technical expertise is widely recognised in the industry. Peter is a great addition both to our casualty team and to the transportation group. We are very pleased to have him on board.”

Glover is the second recent addition to Reed Smith’s Transportation Industry Group globally, the other being partner Nick Austin in London.
