U.S. firm Reed Smith has expanded its Singapore office with the hire of six lawyers from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP), including partners Manoj Purushothaman and Simon Spells.

Previously the head of BCLP’s Singapore corporate team, Purushothaman specialises in cross-border M&A, general corporate advisory and private equity.

Spells, meanwhile, was head of the Singapore transport and asset finance team at BCLP. He has nearly 15 years of experience advising on international asset, structured finance and leasing transactions.

A counsel and three associates are joining Purushothaman and Spells in the move to Reed Smith.

With the addition of two new partners, Reed Smith now has 12 partners in Singapore.
