DLA Piper has recruited energy and project finance expert Brian Youn as a partner in Seoul from Milbank, where he was a counsel.

Youn, who started his legal career at Milbank in 2010, advises financial institutions, sponsors, investment advisers, investment banks and airlines. He has a particular focus on the development of electric vehicle, oil and gas, mining, and other infrastructure projects.

“We are excited to welcome Brian to DLA Piper. He has an impressive track record, and his experience greatly complements our existing capabilities in Asia,” said Colin Wilson, international group head of DLA Piper’s finance, projects and restructuring (FPR) practice. “Strengthening our FPR bench in Asia has been a long-term strategic priority. Over the past few years, we have appointed key lateral hires in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Tokyo and Singapore. Brian’s appointment in Seoul significantly enhances our offering and positions us as a leading firm in the FPR market.”

With Youn’s arrival, DLA Piper now has three partners in Seoul.
