U.S. corporate law firm Sidley Austin has appointed Yuet Ming Tham as a partner in its arbitration, litigation and regulatory group in Hong Kong.
Tham was hired from DLA Piper, where she was a partner and the head of the firm’s Asia regulatory compliance and investigation groups and Asia life sciences practice since 2008.
Prior to joining DLA Piper, she was a regional compliance director at Pfizer Inc in Asia between 2007 and 2008, a deputy public prosecutor in Singapore before that, and a senior associate at Clifford Chance initially.
With a strong track record in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, she specialises in regulatory and compliance matters, governmental investigations, and anti-bribery laws.
Speaking on Tham’s appointment, Thomas Albrecht, the Asia managing partner of Sidley, said: "Yuet's familiarity with many complex regulatory issues in Asia, including privacy and data security matters, as well as her experience in handling complex investigations and FCPA matters will be invaluable to our clients doing business in Asia.” ALB
