Singapore law firm Eugene Thuraisingam has welcomed back litigator Jerrie Tan as a partner from K&L Gates Straits Law, where she was a counsel.
Tan, who began her career with Eugene Thuraisingam in 2013, returns after an eight-year stint at K&L Gates Straits Law, where she developed expertise in commercial disputes and corporate investigations under Narayanan Sreenivasan SC, the firm’s former managing partner.
The move is set to strengthen Eugene Thuraisingam's China and regional practice, as well as its capabilities in dispute resolution, criminal defence, and corporate investigations. Tan, fluent in Mandarin, has a particular focus on serving Mandarin-speaking clients and those based in China.
Tan has over 40 reported judgements to her name in the Singapore Supreme Court and has acted as lead counsel in international arbitration proceedings with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre. Her clients include listed companies and multinational corporations.
In addition to her commercial practice, Tan regularly represents accused persons facing capital charges pro bono. She is one of the youngest female lawyers appointed to the Lead Counsel panel for capital offences in Singapore.
“It is my pleasure to welcome Jerrie Tan as partner,” said Suang Wijaya, managing partner of Eugene Thuraisingam, in a LinkedIn post. “Jerrie's appointment adds heft to our growing China practice, and strengthens our offerings in disputes, investigations and criminal litigation.”
With Tan’s addition, Eugene Thuraisingam now has five partners.
