White & Case has strengthened its global debt finance practice with the appointment of Daniel Abercromby as a partner in Hong Kong from Weil, Gotshal & Manges.

Abercromby represents private equity funds, their portfolio companies as well as credit and other special situations funds on financings in the Asia-Pacific region. He also advises on leveraged and acquisition finance, direct lending transactions, special situations investments and restructuring.

After starting his career at Mayne Wetherell in New Zealand, Abercromby spent seven years at Allen & Overy and nearly five years at Kirkland & Ellis. He joined Weil in October last year.

Following the hire of Abercromby, White & Case now has 14 partners in its Hong Kong office.

Global law firm Morrison Foerster has announced that private equity veteran Scott Jalowayski will rejoin the firm as a partner in Singapore. Jalowayski most recently co-chaired the global private equity group at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
