Withers has added commercial litigator Joseph Chu as a partner in Hong Kong from Simmons & Simmons.

With more than two decades of experience in Greater China, Chu is an expert in cross-border commercial litigation, international arbitration, regulatory investigations and compliance issues, contract and shareholder disputes, trusts, and restructuring and insolvency.

Chu joined Simmons & Simmons as a partner in Beijing in 2013 from Clifford Chance, where he was a counsel. In 2016, he was named as one of ALB China’s Top 15 Rising Lawyers.

With Chu joining Withers, the firm now has 15 partners in Hong Kong.

Global law firm Morrison Foerster has announced that private equity veteran Scott Jalowayski will rejoin the firm as a partner in Singapore. Jalowayski most recently co-chaired the global private equity group at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
