Withers KhattarWong has set up a Japan desk after hiring corporate expert Yutaka Sakashita as a partner from Japanese Big Five firm Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu.

The launch of the Japan desk is aimed at strengthening Withers KhattarWong’s transactional practice, following an increase in cross-border M&A between Singapore and Japan.

Sakashita built up his 15-year legal career at Nagashima Ohno in Tokyo and Singapore. He represents Japanese companies on their cross-border corporate, private equity and venture capital transactions.

With the addition of Sakashita, Withers KhattarWong has 22 partners.
