Finland’s Hannes Snellman has advised SEGA Europe and SEGA, subsidiaries of Japan’s Sega Sammy Holdings, on their planned acquisition of mobile video game producer Rovio Entertainment Oyj for 706 million euros ($776 million), with another Finnish law firm, Roschier, acting for Rovio.

The purchase aims to bolster Sega Europe’s and SEGA’s mobile gaming business, Reuters reported. Based in Espoo, Finnish video game developer Rovio is best known for the Angry Birds video game, which had a combined tally of over five billion downloads across all platforms as of April 2022, and spawned two Hollywood films.

The Hannes Snellman team was led by partners Johan Aalto, Sonja Siggberg, Heidi Haanpää, Mikko Huimala and Panu Siitonen.
