Renowned arbitration lawyer Matthew Gearing has joined Hong Kong-based Temple Chambers as an arbitrator member. Gearing will continue to maintain his practice out of Fountain Court Chambers in London and Singapore.

With close to three decades of experience, Gearing acts in both commercial and investor-state disputes, spanning sectors such as technology, financial services, energy, natural resources, and manufacturing. A former Matthew was chairperson of the HKIAC from 2017 to 2020, Gearing is now a vice-president of the LCIA Court, and on the panel of arbitrators of HKIAC, SIAC, and AIAC.

Gearing joined Fountain Court Chambers in May 2021 after more than two decades at Allen & Overy, where he was co-head of the firm’s global arbitration group.
