Hong Kong-based law firm David Cameron Law Office (DCLO) has announced the appointment of Aoife Griffin as a new partner, significantly expanding its practice areas.

Griffin brings experience in employment law, family law, immigration, and litigation. Over her 15-year career, which included roles at law firms CRB and Vidler & Co, she has handed cases such as QT v Director of Immigration [2018] HKCFA 28, where she successfully challenged the Director of Immigration's discriminatory dependency visa policy to recognize same-sex spouses, handling the case from the High Court to the Court of Final Appeal.

She also appeared in R v Jutting Rurik George Caton [2018] HKCFA 39, a high-profile double-murder case involving the defence of diminished responsibility, which Griffin handled from the Magistrates Court to the Court of Final Appeal.

Griffin also represented an ultra-high net worth client in a HK$960 million ($123.4 million) dairy farm acquisition.

David Cameron, the firm's founder, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointment on LinkedIn. "Overnight, the firm's practice areas have expanded to include employment law, family law, immigration, and litigation," Cameron said. "Aoife is a highly skilled practitioner and a welcomed addition to the team!"

DCLO was set up in 2021 by Cameron, a former Dorsey & Whitney partner. It currently has three lawyers.
