Singapore’s Incisive Law, which specialises in shipping and international trade, has hired Davis Tan as a director and the deputy head of its litigation practice from Big Four firm Rajah & Tann, where he was a partner.

Tan, who joined Rajah & Tann 2016 and became a partner in 2022, has expertise across maritime and shipping disputes, international trade and commodities transactions, cross-border commercial litigation, international arbitration proceedings, trade finance disputes, and complex contractual disputes.

“With a proven track record in shipping, international trade and commodities, disputes and international arbitration, Davis brings a bound of energy, capability to our practice,” Incisive Law said in a statement. “We’re excited to see the incredible contributions he will make as we embark on our journey into a new era.”

The firm currently has 20 lawyers, including six directors.

Tan’s exit from Rajah & Tann comes a few weeks after another disputes partner, Max Lim, departed for Penningtons Manches Cooper.
