Global law firm White & Case has announced the expansion of its investment funds practice in Tokyo with the additions of Sayako Shiraki (L) as local partner and Hiroto Nakayama as counsel. Both were managing associates at Linklaters.

Their hires were announced about a month after White & Case welcomed investment funds partner Eriko Sakata, also from Linklaters, in Tokyo.

Shiraki specializes in investment funds, real estate, and regulatory matters. She is known for her expertise in cross-border fund structuring, real estate investments, and sustainable finance-related legal issues, including advising on EU regulations such as SFDR and the Taxonomy Regulation.

Nakayama brings experience in financial regulatory issues. His practice focuses on advising fund managers, investment advisors, and various financial institutions on matters including license applications, corporate restructuring, and internal compliance documentation.

Nakayama's background includes previous roles at law firms Blakemore & Mitsuki and Paul Hastings, as well as an in-house position at Aozora Bank.
