    Mr. Sriro reads and speaks Indonesian fluently. He is the author of numerous scholarly articles and invited papers and has given more than 30 invited lectures. He served as the reviser to Martindale-Hubbell's Indonesian Law Digest, with annual revisions from 1999 through 2011. He is also the author of two best-selling references on Indonesian law, "Sriro's Desk Reference of Indonesian Law" with annual revisions from 2005 through 2011, "Sriro's Desk Reference of Indonesian Company Law".
    Mr. Sriro received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Michigan in 1987, a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1993 and the Indonesian degree of Magister Hukum (Masters of Law – LLm equivalent) from Universitas Padjadjaran in 2006.
    Mr. Sriro is a member of the California State Bar, and is recognized and licensed as a foreign advocate by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.

Prior to BD, she spent a stint as a country counsel in the oil and gas  sector, and before that she spent over 7 years in various law firms, with more than 5 years with Baker McKenzie. During her law firm life, she mostly did commercial IP work (and says that she still loves it!) and as in-house she has the opportunity to learn every day on various legal and commercial aspects of the company and is proud of being a part of a company that is advancing the world of health. Citta graduated from the law school of Padjadjaran University and obtained her master’s degree from the law school of Queen Mary University of London under the Chevening scholarship scheme.     Deny is the Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo Award In-House Lawyer of the Year (2017), the ALB In-house 25 (2018), nominated for the In-house Lawyer of the year in ALB Indonesia Law Awards (2019), and he is the Senior Legal Counsel in Xiaomi Indonesia, global hardware, software and internet services company. In Xiaomi Indonesia, he has presented nominations for the Annual ALB South East Asia Law Awards (2020) and the Annual ALB Indonesia Law Awards (2019). Before joint Xiaomi Indonesia, he brought an engineering and consultancy company nominated in the In-House Community Counsels of the Year (2018) and the ALB Indonesia Law Awards (2017). He is a member of the Ethics Council of Indonesia Fintech Lending Association (Asosiasi Fintech Pendanaan Bersama Indonesia).     Josef Sunario is a legal professional with over fifteen years of experience in various industries.
     
    He had been entrusted with various roles during his career, starting as an intern at Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners; and then as associate at Bahar & Partners, providing legal advice to various clients which cover a broad range of corporate matters, such as energy, mining, infrastructure, merger and acquisitions, general corporate and project financing.  During his time period working at Bahar and Partners, he was seconded for one year at a major coal mining company on site in East Kalimantan, giving him the opportunity to obtain first-hand knowledge and understanding on the energy industry.
     
    Aspiring to become an integral part of the business, he further went in-house as Corporate Legal Manager of PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk, a public listed company engaged in the business of commercial real estates, hospitality (including Gran Melia Jakarta, Melia Bali), construction services and industrial parks.
     
    His experience in the energy industry during his early years brings him to the next path as in-house legal counsel at Chevron IndoAsia Business Unit, exposed to various assignments to provide legal support across the business unit's operation from onshore operation to offshore operation, and further expanded to compliance, commercial, development projects, joint operations and PSC-related matters.
     
    After more than 10 years with Chevron IndoAsia Business Unit, Josef expanded the spectrum of his legal career by moving to another industry as Head of Legal of PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari (a member of the Zuellig Pharma), a major pharmaceutical distribution company providing healthcare products across all provinces in Indonesia. 

    Currently, Josef is entrusted as the Group Head of Legal Affairs of PT Datang DSSP Power Indonesia, leading the Legal Division in providing legal support to the power generation business, operating power plants with total capacity of 600MW in Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Sumatra (Indonesia).”

    Mita Thalib has over 18 years of experience in the legal industry. Mita started her career working in a lawfirm and then continued to work in various companies within multiple industries including Nissan and IBM, and her last position was the Head of Legal of Samsung Electronics Indonesia (SEIN-S) and manages the legal issues of SEIN-S and its related group. Currently, Mita is pursuing her second Master’s Degree at Kyushu University, Fukuoka Japan.

    Starting her career at law firms - DNC Law Firm and William Effendy & Co. Law Office, she moved In-house at PT Pamarpersada Nusantara as Corporate Legal Officer. Since then she has worked with several companies such as PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (prev. PT International Nickel Indonesia Tbk), PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk and PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk.

    Nova Herlangga Masrie – Head of Legal Services Division 
    Ministry of Investment/Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) 

    Nova has been working at BKPM for more than 13 years. In his recent position, he responsible in handling legal issues or disputes associated with BKPM. He also gives advice on legal or regulatory issues to the related unit and other institutions. He recently involved in the implementation of the new Online Single Submission (OSS) System at BKPM. Prior to this position, he was a Head Section in the Investment Cooperation Directorate that has a function in negotiating bilateral and regional investment treaty between Indonesia and dialogue partner. He was a member of Indonesian delegation in some investment treaty/agreement negotiations, e.g. ASEAN Comprehensive Investment Agreement, ASEAN-China, ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand, ASEAN-Korea, Indonesia-Kuwait, and Indonesia-EFTA. 

    He obtained his law degree from Parahyangan University (2003) and master degree from University of Indonesia (2005). In addition, he also teaches several courses at Faculty of Law, Jakarta University since 2016.

    Ridha Aditya Nugraha is a Faculty Member of the International Business Law Program at Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, Indonesia. Since the beginning of 2018, he played a vital role in the founding and development of air and space law studies in the University. He has published several publications on air and space law issues in academic journals, policy papers, and national newspapers. Prior joining academica, he was a corporate lawyer in a Jakarta-based law firm, aviation specialist in a Danish consulting firm, and had gained experience with an European Union low-cost airline.

    He is affiliated with the European Air Law Association (EALA) and German Aviation Research Society (GARS), and is also one of the experts at the Institute of Air and Space Law Aerohelp, Saint Petersburg. In regards to ASEAN aviation, he was involved at the European Union-EASA ARISE Plus Civil Aviation Project on enhancing passenger protection.

    Tetty Lubis is a legal educator and practitioner over fifteen years of experience in maritime laws with specialization in Maritime Security Law, Maritime Safety, International Law of the Sea, Marine Environmental Law, and Carriage Goods by Sea. Prior to joining IMO-IMLI Malta, Tetty Lubis worked in a state owned company, Pelindo III, Surabaya, where she handled the corporate international affairs and was the country representative at international port and harbor forums. Upon the completion of her LL.M in London, she joined a United Nations-supported international network of investors, Principle for Responsible Investment (PRI), based in London, while also assuming a position as an associate at Halliwell LLP.  She has taught law and business in prominent universities both in Indonesia and overseas, including Binus Universty International, Prasetiya Mulya University, Chitkara University, New Delhi University and UPF, Barcelona. She obtained her LL.B from UGM, Indonesia, LLM in Commercial & Maritime Law from University College London on a Chevening Award, and an MBA in Marketing from Monash University on ADS scholarship. She also receives a Maritime Women Fellowship to do a PhD study in Barcelona, a joint program between UPF, Leiden University and Columbia University.  In addition to her academic job, Tetty Lubis also served as a foreign counsel at Gamseana Maritime International, a centre of research and capacity building in maritime affairs and law of the sea for small island countries.

Currently, works for PT Novartis Indonesia, an affiliate company of Novartis Pharma AG, a global leading pharmaceutical as a Country Legal Head. This position is reporting directly to the Country President Director and functionally to Head Legal of Asia Cluster.
    The Country Legal Head is responsible for providing strategic and legal advice in (and for ensuring the legal sufficiency of) all matters that are relevant to Novartis Group business in Indonesia, such as, contracts (e.g. marketing, promotion, purchasing, in-licensing, consultancy, employment, etc.), intellectual property enforcement, litigation, market access, and employment relations. In addition, I am responsible for establishing, promoting, and reinforcing compliance standards, aligned with local laws and regulations and company compliance policies.

    He come with more than 16 years of relevant, solid experience in a multinational company and law firm. Prior to joining Novartis, he was Senior Legal Manager at PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari (APL), a member of Zuellig Pharma Groups company, a leading pharmaceutical and healthcare distribution company in the most market in Asian countries. Prior to that, he was Corporate Legal Manager at PT Samudera Indonesia, Tbk. A public listed company with the core business in shipping, integrated logistics, and seaports. 

    Before assuming the Senior Corporate Legal Manager, he worked for PT Hexindo Adiperkasa, Tbk and PT Hitachi Construction Machinery Finance Indonesia as the Head of Legal. Previously, he worked at AMROOS & Partners Law Firm (now AMR Partnership), a leading IPR law firm in Indonesia; and in two International Organizations i.e. the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, where he gained international organization’s working experiences.

    Yossy Sulistyorini - Director and Head of Legal

    Yossy Sulistyorini (Yossy) is currently a Director and the Head of Legal of UPC Renewables Indonesia. Before joining UPC, Yossy was a Senior Associate at HHP (Baker McKenzie). She was a corporate lawyer with expertise in, among other things, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), ports, constructions, mining, energy and infrastructure sectors.

    UPC, through its entities in Indonesia, is developing wind and solar projects in Indonesia - UPC has successfully built and is now operating the first utility scale wind power plant project (PLTB) in Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, which was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia in July 2018. Other than Indonesia, Yossy has also been involved in other UPC's projects in other regions in Asia.

    Yossy has also been selected as a participant in the Women in Wind Global Leadership Program 2021, organized by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) partnered with the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET). The program is designed to accelerate the careers of women in the wind industry, support their pathway to leadership positions and foster a global network of mentorship, knowledge-sharing and empowerment.

    ELIGIBILITY 

    How do I know if I am eligible to make a submission? 

    We highly encourage all firms, individuals and in-house teams to submit, as we have numerous award categories to choose from. We welcome both past participants and newcomers to join the submission for the awards. 

    Is self-nomination permitted?

    Yes, we accept self-nominated submissions. We also accept third-party submissions, should you wish to nominate an external party or vice versa.

    Is there a fee required to make a submission in the law awards?

    No, there is no fee payment required for you or your firm/team to make a submission. 

    TIMELINE OF EVENTS

    When will the finalists and winners be announced?

    The shortlist of finalists will be released around 4-8 weeks prior to the awards ceremony. The winners will be exclusively announced at the awards ceremony on 7 October 2021.

    NOMINATION PROCESS AND ASSESSMENT 

    How are the finalists chosen?

    Asian Legal Business will compile all of the submission entries, and the ALB editorial and research teams will extensively review each submission to ensure the criteria are met in order to advance to the shortlist of finalists. We stress that this process is fair, impartial and not subject to external influences. 

    How are the winners chosen? 

    Once the shortlist of finalists have been announced, an independent judging panel will review and select their top three choices for the award categories they are assigned to. The scores for each award category will be tabulated, and the individual/firm/team with the highest score will be announced as the winner. 

    What are the award categories that I can take part in?

    Any law firms, in-house teams or individuals may take part in multiple award categories if appropriate. The researchers reserve the right to move entries from one category to another if they feel it appropriate. The researchers’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

    Who will be on the judging panel for ALB Indonesia Law Awards? 

    There will be an independent judging panel of at least 25 senior and expert legal industry leaders to review the submission materials. The judging panel will be selected on the basis of their expertise and knowledge, and will be comprised from various sectors to correspond to the diverse list of award categories. A partial list of judges’ names will be released prior to the awarding ceremony, and the remaining judges will be revealed on the evening of the awards. 

    What will my contact information/my client’s information be used for?

    All contact information provided will not be disclosed to external parties; and will only be seen by our ALB research team and the judges panel. We keep the information on record internally, in case we need to contact you or your client regarding any questions or discrepancies in the submission form. 

    Where will my name/firm name/team name be published if we are a finalist or winner?

    As a finalist and/or winner, your firm/team/individual name will be published in ALB awards materials and print magazine. For more information, please contact us.

    Is my submission confidential?

    Any information you submit will only be reviewed by the ALB team and independent judging panel, whose names will be published. The material submitted will only be disclosed to the above; if there is any information that is strictly confidential, please mark clearly on the nomination form. Though we do our best to maintain the security of the information you provide, any information you transmit to us is done at your own risk and Thomson Reuters is not responsible for any unauthorized transmission of information.
