Australian law firm Ryan Lawyers, which specialises in real estate, hotels, tourism, and construction, has opened an office in Singapore to cater to increasing client demand across the Asia-Pacific region.

The firm has hired Tien Gui Koh to act as practice director and senior legal counsel based in Singapore, while Robert Williams, who joined Ryan Lawyers from Baker & McKenzie in June, will divide his time between Sydney and Singapore.

Koh has more than 18 years of corporate and commercial experience in cross border transactions, hotel mixed use development, fractional ownership, and international arbitration. Prior to joining Ryan Lawyers, he worked in house as senior counsel and company secretary for international hotel corporations such as Jumeirah and Marriott.

“These appointments and our Singapore presence demonstrate Ryan Lawyers’ commitment to our clients by providing a greater depth of capability in the Asia-Pacific region and servicing the real estate, hotels and tourism sectors,” said Tony Ryan, principal at Ryan Lawyers, in a statement.

In 2004, Ryan established the firm, which has expertise in hotel management and franchise agreements, hotel, resort and mixed use developments, project financing and capital raising.
