Eversheds Harry Elias (EHE), the Singapore office of Eversheds Sutherland, has strengthened its banking and financial practice after hiring Gerard Ng as a partner in Singapore from RHTLaw Taylor Wessing.

Ng is EHE’s first lateral partner hire following the merger between Eversheds Sutherland and the legacy Harry Elias Partnership, which came into effect on May 1, 2017.

Ng has over 20 years of experience and is a specialist in lending, structured finance, acquisition finance and structured products. Before joining RHT, Ng held an in-house role at Singapore fund Eastspring Investments. He was earlier an attorney at offshore law firm Conyers, Dill & Pearman.

Although this is the first partner lateral hire in Singapore in at least two years, Eversheds Sutherland has been expanded steadily in Hong Kong. In the past year, it hired financial services disputes and investigations partner John Siu, IP partner Cedric Lam and corporate partner Dickson Ng.
