Malaysian law firm Christopher & Lee Ong (CLO) has merged with two boutiques, technology and data protection specialist Haryati Deepak, and IP firm Kandiah & Sri.

Following the merger, CLO will have 61 lawyers. Deepak Pillai of Haryati Deepak will head its technology and data protection practice, while Sri Sarguna Raj from Kandiah & Sri will lead its intellectual property practice.

Haryati Deepak, a well-recognised technology and data protection practice, has joined CLO from 1 November 2015 while Kandiah & Sri, which is active in the field of intellectual property, will come on board on 1 December 2015.

I have no doubt we will benefit considerably from the depth of their experience in technology, data protection and intellectual property, and they will position Christopher & Lee Ong to provide comprehensive counsel across different areas of expertise,” said Lee Hock Chye, joint managing partner of Christopher & Lee Ong, in a statement.
