Japan’s largest law firm Nishimura & Asahi (N&A) extended its Asian reach even further after announcing the opening of its Hanoi office. The office, the firm’s second in Vietnam, follows the opening of the firm’s Beijing office in April 2010, and Ho Chi Minh City office in October 2010.

Japanese companies heavily involved in investing and constructing infrastructure in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries in recent years, and their need for legal services has also increased greatly, creating an ideal opportunity for firms like N&A to exploit.

N&A’s Hanoi office, which opened in August under a license granted by Vietnam’s ministry of justice, and has been fully operational since September, is headed by partner Kazuyoshi Furusumi.

"The opening of our Hanoi Office is in line with our commitment to further enhance our international practice and expand our networks in Asia; a region which is expected to play a major role in the growth of the global economy,” an official release from the firm said. “Our unique position, with offices in the two major Vietnamese cities, and the full support and resources of the N&A Tokyo Office, which has a practice team that deals with international transactions and disputes relating mainly to Asian countries, will further solidify our standing as a premium provider of comprehensive and responsive legal services to N&A’s valuable clients.” ALB
